Vagina Dentata

Other people
are the stage props,
the background scenery
against which she plays
the fretful drama
of her life.

When she has done with us,
when we are used-up,
veterans
of her imaginary lines
she tosses us aside
and moves on quickly;

Eager as a spoiled child
to find new sets,
fresh scenery
to populate the black
and hungry vortex
she struggles vainly
to deny.
